COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

At Healthy Howard's Choices, community involvement is not just a commitment; it's a cornerstone of our mission. We believe in the power of collective action to create lasting change and build a community where every individual thrives. Our engagement extends beyond the walls of our programs, reaching into the heart of Trenton to create a ripple effect of positive impact.

From the inception of Healthy Howard's Choices in 2011, community involvement has been woven into the fabric of our organization. We actively seek opportunities to collaborate with local businesses, schools, and residents, recognizing that true transformation happens when the community comes together. Through town hall meetings, outreach events, and partnerships with local organizations, we foster an open dialogue that allows us to better understand the unique needs and aspirations of the community we serve.

In the spirit of collaboration, we actively engage with local businesses to create opportunities for skill development and employment. We organize community events that celebrate diversity, promote health and wellness, and provide a platform for residents to connect and share their stories. By actively involving the community in our decision-making processes, we ensure that our programs are not just beneficial but tailored to the specific needs of Trenton.

Healthy Howard's Choices views community involvement as a reciprocal relationship. As we contribute resources, mentorship, and educational opportunities, we receive the invaluable gift of community feedback, support, and shared victories. Together, we navigate the challenges, celebrate successes, and work towards a collective vision of a resilient and thriving community.

In essence, community involvement is not an addendum to our work; it is the heartbeat that propels Healthy Howard's Choices forward. It's a commitment to building bridges, fostering connections, and creating a community where every individual has the chance to lead a healthy, empowered, and fulfilling life.

HHC also offers 6 or more community events a year to support the building of families and the enhancement of our communities, this increases our service levels by another 300-500 persons. Through our working relationship with the public schools, HHC has found success with improving the academic performance of students we serve, as reported by parents, students, and teachers, while being documented by school report cards.
